Why does it need Accessibility permission?
macOS only lets an app read and reshape the mouse wheel and extra buttons if it has Accessibility permission. There is no automatic prompt for this kind of app, so you enable it by hand, one time. Everything happens on your Mac; nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
Scrolling isn't changing. What should I check?
Confirm Mouse Scroll Plus is turned on in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility, and that the master switch in the menu is on. If you just granted permission, it takes effect right away, no restart needed.
Does it affect my trackpad?
No. Mouse Scroll Plus only reshapes mouse-wheel scrolling. Your trackpad keeps its normal behavior.
My side buttons don't do anything when I map them.
Some mice (for example certain gaming mice) remap their side buttons in their own on-device software, so those buttons arrive as keystrokes rather than mouse buttons. In that case, set them in the mouse's own software instead. The scroll-wheel click (middle button) and standard extra buttons work directly.
Can I turn it off in certain apps?
Yes. Open Settings › Per-app rules and add an app to disable the effect there, or give it its own scrolling. You can also set a global keyboard shortcut to toggle everything on or off.
Does it collect any data?
No. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no network connections. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Will it work on my iPad?
No. Mouse Scroll Plus is a Mac app. iPadOS doesn't allow apps to reshape system scrolling, so mouse settings there live in the built-in Settings app.
