Sidestep does not collect any data. None at all.
Sidestep watches for requests to common web libraries (like jQuery or Bootstrap) that a page tries to load from a content delivery network, and serves an identical copy already stored on your device instead. The network is never contacted, so it cannot log your IP address or which page you were on.
Sidestep stores only your own settings: the list of sites where you have turned it off, your language and appearance choices, and whether the optional Google Fonts blocking is on. This lives in the browser's local extension storage on your device. It is never uploaded, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Sidestep makes no network requests of its own. It contacts no server we run, and there is no server to contact. The bundled library files ship inside the app and are updated only when you install an app update from the App Store.
Sidestep shares nothing with anyone, because it has nothing to share. The bundled libraries are redistributed from the open-source LocalCDN and Decentraleyes projects under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
Sidestep is safe for all ages. It collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
